New Season by Bettys
There’s no denying it: autumn is peeking around the corner, heralding a more crisp and colourful world. With senses sharpened, it’s time to relish rich flavours and tantalising aromas, or to indulge yourself with treats only found at this time of year. So dig out your favourite jumper and prepare to dive into our leaf-pile of new season delights.
Delivered to your door
Our popular autumn specialities are back, making it the perfect time to enjoy your Bettys favourites at home. Put the kettle on and invite friends round for teatime with our Marzipan & Sponge Apples and Owl Cupcake Brownies. Then snuggle down for a cosy night in with a mug of our Hot Chocolate and a gloriously sticky slice of Yorkshire Parkin. Send a celebration gift box filled with seasonal treats to a loved one, or throw an autumn-themed do with our Fondant Fancy Party Cake.
On the menu at Bettys
The arrival of a Bettys box on your doorstep might suggest otherwise, but we recommend that you don’t curl up with your treats and hibernate just yet. Otherwise you’d miss the chance to enjoy our new Autumn Menu, including freshly prepared Leek & Emmental Tortelloni followed by warm Treacle Tart or Apple Strudel, or to sample the newest cakes on the silver stand for our Lady Betty Afternoon Tea.
With our new programme of special events now taking bookings, don’t leave it too late to secure your seat at our ever-popular Carols by Candlelight. Starting in October for evenings at Bettys York and Harrogate, we’ve also mixed an exclusive collection of cocktails, including two made with Harrogate’s own Slingsby Gin. So make it Carols and Cocktails by Candlelight if you like – summer doesn’t have a patch on that.
New flavours of the season
Banish that tired bottle of ketchup to the back of the fridge: our newest varieties of preserves and chutneys have arrived. Made in small batches in the Yorkshire Dales, they’re packed with the tastiest combinations of sweet and tangy fruits, aromatic spices and a splash or two of something extra.
Our Ampleforth Beer Fruit Chutney is great for adding to hearty sandwiches, while we reckon that a spoonful of our new Yorkshire Wildflower Honey or our Cherry & Amaretto Preserve is what any bowl of porridge needs on a chilly morning. We’ve also created some rather dashing new gift sets, each containing a trio of our tastiest preserves or chutneys.
Chocolate Heaven

Talking of which, we’ve given our chocolates a smart new outfit for autumn, with redesigned boxes featuring the elegant penwork of our favourite York artist, Emily Sutton. Hazelnut Pralines, Champagne Truffles, Salted Caramels, our intensely delicious Cru Sauvage Truffles… if you can’t decide between them, our new Chocolate Tasting Box has them all.
It’s not just the scent of bonfires that’s in the air at Bettys. Our improved selection of Single Origin Coffees will soon feature two distinctive new varieties: Kenyan Karatina, bursting with citrus fruit flavours, and the full-bodied Java Kalibaru with its notes of dark chocolate.
