Christmas FAQs

Everything you need to know about shopping with Bettys this Christmas.

When can I order for Christmas?

You can place your order now. We are expecting a very busy Christmas, and some stock will be limited – so please place your order early to secure your preferred delivery slot and avoid the disappointment of missing out on your favourite festive treats. We recommend doing so by mid-November, to give you the widest choice of December dates and the broadest range of products.

Why does it stay in stock, but no delivery dates are being presented?

If the calendar is not visible, it could be for a number of reasons.

For international orders, the calendar does not display. In addition, you may have entered an address in a country that we do not currently deliver to, or a specific item in your basket cannot be shipped to that country.

For baskets containing several items, it may be that there is no date on which it is possible to deliver your complete order, for example if an item is only available until a certain date while a second item is not available until after a later date, with no overlap.

If you placed items in your basket and then returned a few days later to complete your order, it is also possible that an item may no longer be in stock. Please check your basket as it will show if any item is now unavailable.

If the calendar appears but it is not possible to select your preferred delivery day, this may be due to stock availability – for example, to ensure freshness, we do not deliver Yorkshire Curd Tarts on Mondays.

Or an item may be a seasonal one which is only available for a limited time.

Will my products be in date for Christmas?

Please see individual product pages for information on delivery for Christmas, and best before information on cakes.

Why do your mince pies have such a short shelf life?

We would firstly like to reassure you that the best by date isn’t a use by date. We include it to help you know when the product will taste its best, rather than when it is safe to eat.

We do know that some of our products have a shorter shelf life than you might find elsewhere. Where a product has a short shelf life, we highlight it on the website.

We could extend the shelf life but we’d need to add certain preservatives, and we prefer not to do that.

There is also always a risk that such a recipe change could affect flavour and texture – and that would be disastrous.

The good news is that many of our treats freeze beautifully and taste just as lovely after defrosting – look out for items listed with the snowflake freezing symbol.

Will Bettys be holding their ‘Carols by Candlelight’ Events this year.

There are no plans to hold these events this year.

What if there’s something wrong with my order?

Call us on 0800 456 1919 so we can put things right.

Can I track my order?

Can I track my order? For your convenience, all of our delivery services are tracked.

When your parcel leaves our Craft Bakery you will be sent an email confirming the despatch (if you have provided an email address when placing your order). This email will contain a link to track your order.

What if I am out when you try to deliver?

If you miss a delivery attempt the courier will leave a card with instructions. If possible, arrange redelivery (either when you are at home or to a safe place) or collection.

Do your parcels show the price of items?

No, your delivery will not include the price of the items. The only billing information will be on the confirmation email you receive.

Do you deliver overseas?

We are able to send selected products overseas.

You can find details of countries we can ship to at the link here.

However, we’re sorry to say that we don’t expect to be in a position to deliver to Europe or Northern Ireland until 2022 at the earliest.

The rules for selling and shipping to the EU and Northern Ireland became a great deal more complicated with Brexit and the guidance for businesses like ours remains somewhat unclear.

We’re working hard to resolve it, and to be the first to hear when we do, sign up to our emails.

Please note: carriage prices vary for overseas deliveries and restrictions apply to some countries; for further information please contact our Customer Support Team.
