Delivery Information

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery for Easter for any orders placed after 15th April. However our Yorkshire shops are open for you to find that perfect gift.

We put the same care and attention to detail into our mail order service as we do into making the treats for which we’re famous. Because our Craft Bakery freshly bakes different cakes on different days, what you order will affect when your parcel can be sent out. We do this to ensure your items reach you in perfect condition. Don't worry though, we make every effort to despatch your items as quickly as possible.

We are only able to send selected products overseas. Carriage prices vary for overseas deliveries and restrictions apply to some countries. Bettys cannot be held responsible should local customs authorities confiscate any item or charge any import duty. Please be aware that for all parcels entering the US via a courier service, the FDA (Food & Drugs Administration) impose an custom clearance charge fee of $20.75 which is payable at the point of delivery by the recipient. This is not a pre-payable charge. 

From November 2010 all parcels over $60.00 CAD in value delivered to Canada by courier will be subject to duty and taxes. There are some countries that we are unable to ship to, please call customer services on +44 (0)1423 814008 for further details.

Last order dates for Easter

Our last guaranteed order dates for Easter deliveries are as follows:

UK Mainland
Tuesday 15th April.

UK Highlands & Islands
Friday 11th April.

EU destinations
Friday 4th April.

Rest of the World
Friday 28th March.

Orders will be accepted after these dates but Easter delivery cannot be guaranteed.

Tracking Your Order

Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll send you an email confirming that your order is being dealt with and how it will be delivered. When it’s ready to go, we'll send you a second email to let you know that your package is on its way.

If your order is being delivered by courier or via Royal Mail tracked service you will also be provided with a reference number which will allow you to keep track of the delivery. But please note: we are unable to track First Class and Airmail deliveries.

If you want to view the status of your order, you can log into your account at any time to check how it’s doing.

UK Deliveries

To give the best possible service we use a fully traceable delivery service for the majority of our orders. We believe it's worth it to ensure everything arrives safely. You can order as much as you want for the single charge, shown below, so long as it is to one private address in the UK and does not exceed 20 kilos in weight.

First Class Deliveries
If you only order teas and/or coffees and/or certain chocolates and your package weighs under 1kg, then we can offer a Royal Mail First Class alternative, delivered within 1 – 2 days, subject to stock availability.  These orders are not trackable.

The following flat rate applies:

Please note that all our delivery charges cover both postage and packing.

Vouchers
We deliver vouchers within the UK. If your order doesn’t contain any additional items we will always ship vouchers via First Class.

International Deliveries

If your order weighs less than 2kg when packed, you can choose between an airmail or couriered delivery. Orders that weigh over 2kg will automatically be sent by UPS. We are only able to send selected products overseas, for further information please contact our customer services team on +44 (0)1423 814008. Please be aware that for all parcels entering the US via a courier service, the FDA (Food & Drugs Administration) impose a custom clearance charge fee of $20.75 which is payable at the point of delivery by the recipient. Our shipping costs are calculated by weight and destination. Where applicable a packing fee and courier-imposed fuel surcharge may be added.

When Will My Order Arrive?

Where a week-ending delivery date has been selected and courier delivery selected, we'll ensure your package is with you by the Friday of that week at the latest.

Couriered deliveries are made Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 8.00am until 6.00pm and require a signature on receipt. If no one is at home, a card will be left and delivery will be attempted on the next working day.

We’re unable to guarantee delivery dates for Royal Mail and Airmail services. If your package is being delivered via First Class or Airmail then we aim to dispatch during the week that you've selected at the checkout, but we are unable to guarantee delivery dates as these delivery methods are not time guaranteed services.

General Delivery Information

Delivery Weights
Online orders cannot exceed 40kg in weight.

BFPO Addresses
We’re sorry but we are unable to accept orders to BFPO addresses online. If you wish to have an order delivered to a BFPO address please call us on +44 (0)1423 814008.

P.O. Boxes
Please note that we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes.

Tax & Duties
In some countries import tax and duties, which are beyond our control, may have to be paid by the recipient on delivery of the parcel.

VAT on Non-EU Orders
If your order is placed and delivered outside of the EU, you’re not required to pay VAT. At the point of despatch the VAT will be calculated and then deducted from the original total cost. Your despatch note will confirm that deduction and the final cost to you.

Delivery on a Specific Day
With the exception of our rich fruit cakes, our cakes are freshly baked on different days throughout the week. If it is important that your cake arrives on a particular day, for a birthday or anniversary for example, please call us on +44 (0)1423 814008. We’ll be able to tell you on what day of the week your order will arrive.

Incomplete or Inaccurate Addresses
We will attempt delivery to an address and postcode as you enter it and cannot accept liability for late or failed delivery due to an incorrect address. If you are unsure of an address or postcode please check it using the postcode finder or call our Customer Services Team for assistance.
