Our Craft Bakery in Harrogate is a placed filled with people, not machines. That’s because we believe in keeping traditional food craft skills alive.
Long before the sun makes an appearance, our bakers are on duty preparing ‘our daily bread’. Every day they’re busy creating traditional Yorkshire loaves and more unusual continental breads.
The rest of the bakery springs to life shortly after. Our pastry makers, confectioners and chocolatiers produce a dazzling array of treats. Classic vanilla slices, rich fruit cakes, gorgeous caramel chocolate hearts – the list is endless!
And don’t forget our best-seller, the plump and fruity Fat Rascals, with their bright cherry eyes and cheeky almond grins.
The Art of Baking
The tantalising sights, sounds and smells in our Craft Bakery will bring out the child in anyone. And the level of skill on display is nothing short of magical.
Preparing chocolate for moulding is a very tricky business, yet they make it look deceptively simple. And the sugar flowers created by our cake decoration team are incredibly realistic. You’ll find their work on lots of our specialities, such as our special order cakes for birthdays and anniversaries.
But the truth is, even the simplest item made in our bakery is a labour of love. Each one is made with care and attention, using the finest ingredients. Being based in Yorkshire, we’re surrounded by great local suppliers – people who share our passion for quality and craft.
We’re very proud of our Swiss-Yorkshire heritage, and many of our recipes have been handed down through three generations.
