We've been making Yorkshire Fat Rascal® scones for over 40 years and these plump, fruity scones are still a Bettys favourite. Best enjoyed warm and buttered, they're made to our special recipe with butter, juicy currants and citrus peel, and hand decorated with glacé cherries and almonds to create the cheeky Yorkshire Fat Rascal® face.
What is it that makes a Fat Rascal so special? Perhaps it's the ingredients: real butter, the finest fruits, demerara sugar for its just-so texture and subtle caramel flavour. Maybe it's the perfect imperfection of every one: eyes and mouth carefully placed so that as they bake the face breaks out into that familiar smile. Or could it be 'Rosa', the machine that helps us form the dough into evenly sized balls so that every Rascal is the same size? We don't know but what we do know is that you can't buy a proper Fat Rascal from anyone else, and that's the most special thing of all.

But if you’re new to this Bettys favourite, then let us explain: a Fat Rascal is a wonderfully buttery and crumbly fruit scone made with plump currants and tangy citrus peel. Each one is topped with glacé cherries and almonds to create that iconic cheeky face with its rascally smile.
