Enhance your community with help from our Trees for Life Fund
This National Tree Week we’re delighted to launch our Trees for Life Fund to help communities around Yorkshire make a difference to their local environment.
To celebrate our long-term passion for trees, we’ll be awarding £100,000 during our centenary year to projects that will have a lasting impact for the environment and communities close to our Café Tea Rooms.
Trees have played a significant part in our heritage – we planted our first tree nearly 30 years ago; a hornbeam tree just down the road from our Harrogate Café Tea Rooms. And through our planting and protection work, we’ve seen the fantastic difference trees can make – both around the world, and here in our beautiful Yorkshire homeland.
The Trees for Life fund will support projects that increase tree cover, improve access to woodland, enhance habitats and provide environmental education. We’re working with the Two Ridings Foundation to administer the grants and we hope to receive applications from community groups, schools and voluntary groups who need support for initiatives such as improving wildlife areas, running outdoor education activities, creating tree trails or orchards or regenerating local woodland.
Grants between £500 and £4000 are available for community groups and organisations in Yorkshire, and applications will be taken until August 2019.
