We have been making wedding and celebration cakes for over 90 years and pride ourselves on a strong sense of tradition, the high quality of the ingredients we use, and our meticulous attention to detail. The specialised skills of our craft-trained confectioners have been handed down the generations since the day of our founder, Frederick Belmont, a Swiss confectioner, came to England to seek his fortune.
We have a variety of designs for one, two, three, four and five tier cakes to serve as many as three hundred guests. Our cakes are hand-decorated with the kind of detail rarely seen nowadays – each individual petal, leaf or lacework panel is skillfully crafted by hand.

Bettys Wedding Cakes are made to our Celebration Cake recipe with muscovado sugar, wheat flour, butter and ground almonds. Each cake contains naturally coloured glacé cherries, raisins, sultanas, currants and orange and lemon peel, all steeped in sherry and lemon juice. Black treacle, cinnamon and mixed spices add to the rich, traditional flavour of the cake. The cakes are then brushed with sherry and matured for three months, allowing the delicious flavours and moist texture to develop.
For those who prefer a lighter cake, the top tiers can be made of plain or chocolate Genoese sponge. Our cakes are covered with a layer of the finest quality marzipan and are then iced with either soft sugar paste or traditional royal icing.
Bettys Wedding Favours make the perfect finishing touch to your reception tables; Choose from solid Swiss chocolate heart in creamy white smooth milk or rich dark chocolate hand foiled in gold, silver or bronze foil and tied in cellophane with a pretty bow, butter biscuit hearts topped with royal icing decorated with a choice of design from our range of hand piped names, pretty flowers or personalised monograms or a special cellophane bags of our dainty macaroons in a selection of colours and flavours.
All these items are personalised to your own specific requirements and we usually require a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice prior to delivery or collection.

Any design from our collection can be made to your personal requirements. We can discuss the style and size of cake to suit the number of guests and venue. At this stage we can look at how details unique to your wedding such as colour scheme, the reception flowers, or perhaps a monogram from your invitation can inspire the look of your cake.
We will always do our utmost to accommodate your order; however, to provide you with the very best service possible, we require sufficient time to fulfill your requirements. The following lead times are therefore recommended:
