Bettys Earl Grey is a blend of the finest black China teas and natural oil of bergamot. The infusion is pale and golden with an elusive fragrance and fine delicate flavour. It is said that during a visit to China by Earl Grey, the British Prime Minister from 1830-1834, one of his diplomats saved the life of a Mandarin. His reward was a secret recipe, tea delicately scented with oil from the citrus fruit, bergamot. The infusion is believed to keep mind, body and soul in perfect harmony. The best place to keep your tea is in a traditional tea caddy. We have created these elegant black-and-gold tins, based on the antique tea tins we use in our Bettys Shops. Each label is illustrated with a teapot from our collection.
